APPLY: CONTENT & STUDIO ASSISTANT
We’re on the lookout for a confident, creative, and capable Content & Studio Assistant to join us on a flexible, contract basis. This role is in-person and on-call, perfect for someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and thrives in a creative environment.
ABOUT US
Studio Warehouse (previously Studio on Hampton) is a photography and content studio run by Charlotte Jayasuriya. After almost four years of running shoots, workshops, and content days, Charlotte recently expanded into a much larger space—and with a baby on the way, it’s time to bring someone else into the fold. Charlotte is a photographer, creative director, and content coach who helps brands and business owners show up online with confidence. The studio vibe is creative but organised, sometimes chaotic and sometimes calm, always social.
THE ROLE
We’re not looking for a polished resume—just the right person who’s happy to roll up their sleeves, film a few Reels, wipe down a table, and help keep the place running.
This role has two main goals:
Capture Content
You will help create a bank of low-fi video and photo content at the studio. This includes:
Capturing iPhone BTS during client shoots, content days, and workshops
Film Charlotte shooting in a candid style
Brainstorming content ideas together via Instagram or text
This may include being on camera yourself
Not much editing needs to be done, but knowing how to use Edits or CapCut is a bonus!
Studio Help
You will also help prepare the studio for photoshoots—especially as Charlotte’s belly growns. This includes:
Resetting props, tidying and styling the space, and maintaining general cleanliness (dishes, bins etc)
Prepping the background paper
Assisting during shoots—moving gear, carrying bags, grabbing coffee or lunch
Welcoming clients and helping them feel comfortable
Walking up and down stairs
Opening the studio alone to set up early
No admin duties are required for this role
THE IDEAL FIT
You love social media and know what’s trending
You’re confident filming on an iPhone and understand the basics of lighting, exposure and Action Mode
You’re a helpful, positive person who knows when to step in and when to stay out of the way
You’re happy to switch between creative and practical tasks
You’re comfortable to occasionally be on camera
You’re reliable, self-starting
You’re physically able to lift furniture and assist with setting up the studio
You have flexible hours
You can keep Charlotte on task (without distracting her)
PAY & STRUCTURE
This is a contractor role, not a salaried or casual job
$35 per hour
You must invoice for your hours (weekly or per session)
An ABN is required (you can register for free)
Hours will vary depending on studio needs with plenty of flexibility and notice for important dates
Fewer hours may be available in January and February due to bubba bring born
Free parking available
